Process Control system admins study an organizations current computer systems and procedures and design information systems solutions to help the organization operate more efficiently and effectively. They bring business and information technology (IT) together by understanding the needs and limitations of both. This role is directly responsible for analyzing, designing and implementing information systems, assess the suitability of information systems in terms of their intended outcomes and liaise with end users, software vendors and programmers in order to achieve these outcomes. The Process Control system administrator is the entry level position within the Process Control systems analyst group with an opportunity to advance to Process Control system analyst, Senior, or Principal. The Process Control system administrator will be called to support the process control system analysts with the day-to-day IT needs of the process control systems. This would include performing routine IT administrative tasks which includes, cloning existing system images, applying patches, performing backups, and setting up hardware. Key Responsibilities: 1.Create new servers from existing clone images 2.Monitor system resource health 3.Base level maintenance a.Perform and verify backups b.Applying system patches c.Basic hardware replacement (i.e. hard drive) d.Virus protection 4.Assist Process Control Analysts (all levels) 5.Provide first level help-desk support to process control group 6.Continually learning to maintain an up-to-date knowledge technology and computer systems through self-study, experiments, conferences, and seminars. 7.Effectively perform all assigned work efficiently, on-time, and safely within a fast-paced work environment. 8.Must be willing to provide 24/7 off-hour support 9.Position may be at any of the three Canton steel plants (HS...
