Desired Skills/Duties: PURPOSE: To manage implementation of the council s service unit/cluster volunteer management processes in assigned geographic areas. Responsible for the implementation of a council girl and adult retention plan to meet council retention goals. Ensure a variety of opportunities exist across all pathways for adult volunteers and for a quality Girl Scout Leadership Experience for girls. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Incumbent is accountable for, but not limited to: Managing the development and implementation of the integrated community service unit plans to support volunteers in the delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, working in partnership with the recruitment manager and service unit volunteers; Managing the development and implementation of retention plans based on council retention goals and in alignment with council recruitment plans. Support coordination of the work between the recruitment team and retention teams; Implementing all aspects of the volunteer program management system to provide excellent customer service to volunteers and parents, including coaching and problem solving in assigned geographic areas; Acting as primary coach to the service unit team volunteers, including recruitment, mentoring and support for the effective coordination of services to troop leaders; Supporting girls access and volunteer leadership in a variety of progressive program experiences in partnership with the recruitment and community outreach managers; Partnering with key volunteers and staff to cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with local community organizations and networks to increase visibility, funding options, partnerships and help address and meet Girl Scouting goals; Other duties as assigned. Conflict Management Anticipates, prevents and resolves conflicts while maintaining productive working relationships (for example, with customers, vendors, or coworkers); distinguishes between disruptive conflict and constructive differences; identifies common interests to resolve differences; identifies the causes of problems; analyzes factors contributing to conflict; anticipates potential conflicts; facilitates conflict resolution. Problem-Solving: Identifies and analyzes existing and potential problems systematically and thoroughly; reports/documents the problem; obtains and evaluates relevant information and contributing factors; identifies important interrelationships; implements solutions after evaluating alternatives and anticipating their impact; supports decisions or recommendations with data and/or reasoning; defines and implements solutions to problems. Team-Building Knows team-building techniques and processes; collaborates with others to create optimal solutions; fosters a commitment to a team approach to work; promotes partnerships between work units; collaboratively defines boundaries and outcomes of work responsibilities; shares information with others; recognizes and rewards team accomplishments; shares decision-making responsibility with team members. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor s degree or equivalent work experience in related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
