It can also be E-Mailed to **Job order qualifications must be reflected on your resume to be considered** Job Duties: Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in purchasing and distributing raw materials, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Develop and maintain a meaningful cost reduction program that will provide the necessary goods and services at the lowest possible cost that is consistent with quality required. Personally conduct negotiations for procurement of raw materials, equipment and contract services, maintain review system that assures management that good practices are followed on all levels of purchasing. Set up and maintain inventory controls to conform with budgets and forecasts and to assure an adequate supply of raw material to schedule and fill customer orders: stay abreast on a continued basis as to order backlog, in-process material, production capabilities, and other pertinent factors affecting operations, and production schedule plans. Advise management on market conditions, price trends and material and transportation: make recommendations with respect to appropriate inventory levels that will ensure protection of operations and take advantage of special economic opportunity. Develop and maintain effective supplier relations that will ensure prompt supply of not only goods and services, but supplemental benefits such as technical and market information. Qualifications: Must have degree in area of Purchasing or related field. Experience in steel purchasing required. Must be least 21 years of age or older, and have excellent communication skills, written skills, and verbal skills. Computer proficiency required. Previous scheduling experience required.
