Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment. Diagnosis malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools. Test malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment, and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers such as machine repairer, maintenance (any industry) and tool maker, maintenance (machine shop) to diagnose malfunction. Replace faulty electrical component of machine, such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices, using hand tools. Diagnose and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards using electronic testers, and electronic test equipment and hand tools. Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors. May push buttons and press keys on robot controller, teach pendant, and programmable controller program for malfunctions and to verify repairs. May plan layout of wiring and install wiring conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings. May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment. May be required to hold electrician license. Qualifications: Technical/Vocational School. Need experience and able to diagnose components, systems and apparatus using testing tools and equipment. Must be able to inspect electrical components for identifying defects, hazards, or need for repair or adjustment to ensure abidance with codes. Inform supervisor and other higher officials regarding potential hazards and recommending corrective solutions.
