Serve as an operations partner in equipment repair, troubleshooting, and preventive -maintenance. Perform regular/scheduled maintenance of production equipment during down time. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines. Diagnose various types of processing and packaging equipment to determine nature and extent of needed repairs. Identifies problems; Replaces or repairs parts; Makes adjustments. Assist in reducing or eliminating production downtime due to plant equipment issues. Responds to line and equipment calls; Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production times. Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders in order to perform required maintenance and service. Perform a variety of building/facilities maintenance and carpentry functions. Detects faulty operations and defective materials; Reports those and any unusual situations to proper supervision. Consistently follows company policies, safety standards, SOPs, and GMPs. Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties. Maintains clean and orderly work areas. Perform all other duties as assigned or needed. Qualifications: High school diploma; Associate s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred or 1-2 years of maintenance experience in a food-manufacturing environment preferred. Experience in heavy industrial equipment repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic competency required. Possess effective communication skills, both oral and written. Be Self-motivated; Ability to work independently. High energy level required. Must be a Team player and get along with other employees. Able to work in a fast-paced, chaotic, constantly-changing work environment. Ability to stand, sit, squat, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, stretch, walk, reach, twist, bend, grasp, use hands and fingers, handle objects or controls, talk, hear. Able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Physically capable of accessing/and moving through all areas of the plant; Agility to negotiate around moving machinery and people.
