Will be the first & last contact between the customer & the clinic & key to creating first & lasting impressions. Will greet customers & pets by name; answer phones promptly & professionally using a multi-line system; will screen & route calls to appropriate staff; will provide phone shoppers w/ descriptions of service first, price last; receive & transmit faxes; will take & deliver messages promptly to appropriate staff, pulling medical record of patients to staff can properly document information; will make detailed notes in medical records concerning client conversations; ensure the reception area & exam rooms have current brochures & are clean, neat & odor-free. Will verify & update medical & computer records for accurate client information each visit. Will enter accurate charges & explain invoices by summarizing service & products before presenting the total. Will answer client questions about veterinary service & products & provide knowledgeable advice about wellness, prevention & diseases. Will fill prescriptions & provide routine administration instructions to clients. Echo doctor s recommendations when checking out clients. Will prepare consent forms, estimate/treatment plans & be able to discuss the hospital s financial policies with clients, including Care Credit. Will prepare health certificates, proof of vaccination, lab reports & euthanasia certificates. Will sell retail items & pet food. Will advise clients on proper nutrition, flea/tick/heartworm preventatives, pre-anesthetic testing, pain management, shampoos, home dental products & other retail items. Will assist clients in & out of clinic with pets & supplies, as needed. Will maintain an active clinic Facebook & media presence. Maintain a clean, neat reception area & front desk. Will help with clinic cleaning & laundry. Foster collaborative relationships with other team members & departments. Assist with patient care as needed. **Please note: This is a full-time position (30 to 40 hrs. per week) $10.00 per hour. Position will support veterinarians, technicians & veterinary assistants I daily patient & client care. Will communicate with clients in person & by phone text & email. Must be able to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals & equipment. Qualifications:. Must be at least 21 years old, have a HS diploma/equivalent w/ experience in customer service. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently. Must have exceptional client/customer service & communication skills, computer literacy, handle payment & financial issues, have the ability to multi-task, friendly attitude & confident to deal with stressful situations; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; understanding veterinary terminology; keep accurate medical records, clerical work, educate clients, promote hospital products & services & support team members.
