Desired Skills/Duties: Job Description for: Transportation Dispatcher/Tracker Summary/Objective The Dispatcher/Tracker position within ODW's Operations Group entails working with most Account Management and Brokerage Teams within the company. Serving as the liaison between the carrier and ODW, the Dispatcher/Tracker serves a critical role in the success of ODW s service offering to our customers, both client and carrier included. Duties Responsible for daily dispatch and tracking of all shipments, of all modes of transportation. Communicate with dispatch manager, brokerage manager, account manager, and operations team as needed to drive proper communication to customer and or carrier. Communicate with drivers and carriers dispatch; retrieving all the information we need for each individual load. Retrieving information on individual loads and solving any problems from a logistics stand point. Measured on effort and amount of overall daily loads tracked and dispatched. Understanding an overall concept of how freight moves from point A to point B. Skills and Competencies Driven, enthusiastic and highly motivated Strong communication skills Ability to work in a team environment Problem solver Ability to take direction Have a sense of urgency Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time effectively Bachelors Degree Must be willing to learn new skills and technology Must be able to work unsupervised Must have good interpersonal skills for dealing with internal customers Attention to detail Ability to multi-task Customer service skills Strong project management skills Education and Experience 4-year High School Degree required Working towards College Degree completion preferred Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel as well as reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. Travel Primary is primarily at the Hamilton, OH office location. If business demands any travel, Management will review with the employee in advance. Other Information Full time position 45-hour work week (Monday Friday only) Health, dental and supplementary insurance available after 60-day probationary period 401K enrollment with company match.
