NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE! **Be sure when applying direct to the employer, you mention *OhioMeansJobs Stark/Tuscarawas Counties* as the source of how you heard about the position** Job Duties: Will be responsible for unloading of all raw material used in the chlorination operation from either railcar or tank-wagon into the proper storage tank or receiving vessel.. Spots railcars as needed throughout the plant. Will load by-products of the prime chlorination operations & acid from phosphites into tank-wagons & railcars. Performs the required inspections & calculations & Dilutions for both loading & unloading of raw materials or by-products to ensure the safe & efficient transfer of these materials. Will operate the bleach tower in such a manner as to provide for the safe & efficient manufacture of bleach. Assists the 1-P operator with such duties as: drum-off, transfer of drums, housekeeping & relief watch for break times. Opens valves, start pumps & runs aeration system. Records operation data in log books & maintains transfer slips for all incoming & outgoing materials. Accesses data from AS 400 / Infinium & MS Dynamics AX as needed. Trains new 1-P utilities. Keeps the control room and/or office clean & neat & assists in cleaning of any spill during transfer, manufacture or related activities. Patrols & inspects work areas or units to detect leaks & equipment malfunctions, monitors operating conditions & shuts equipment down if necessary. Takes samples & transfers to QC for testing. Troubleshoots equipment & process problems along with monitoring gauges, recording instruments, flowmeters & other ladder storage areas, labeling & all other safety requirements as deemed necessary by management. Communicates information with management & co-workers by telephone, in written form, email or in person. Will follow & abide by all emergency procedures. Will empty trash dumpsters & perform housekeeping. Will properly operate equipment & notify maintenance of all equipment malfunctions. Will monitor the acid production & the chlorination of caustic to bleach. Will also be responsible for the loading of by-products such as hydrochloric acid & bleach. Other duties as may be assigned by management or leader. All of the above duties are to be performed in the safest, most efficient manner possible to achieve the optimum production of a quality product. Please Note: Workdays are 40 to 55 hours per week, with Mandatory Overtime. Must be able to work any shift, including weekends, overtime, holidays, with workdays from 8-12 hours. Wage is $21.88 to $23.88 per hour, based on experience, skills & abilities. Qualifications: Must have a HS Diploma/equivalent, w/ minimum 3 years of related industrial/chemical experience. Must possess a valid driver s license w/ a positive driving record. Must be at least 18 years of age and must be able to do heavy lifting up to 100 lbs. (must be able to occasionally lift, push, or pull 50 lb. & through mechanical means, roll or handle 500 lb. drums.. Must be able to perform physical activities that require moving your whole body with considerable use of arms & legs, such as reaching, bending, twisting, standing climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping & handling of materials with potential for dust explosion. Must be able to work some heights & climb stairs frequently & climb railcar ladders frequently. Must be able to operate forklift. Must be able to wear a full face respirator, supplied air or an SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus).
