Desired Skills/Duties: Sanitors perform many jobs that include, but are not limited to the following: Must be able to perform the assigned tasks for periods of 8 hours on concrete floor, some of which may include but is not limited to standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting. Must have the ability to use pinch grip and do detailed hand/finger work with use of both dominate and non-dominate arms and hands. Must be able to work on and around machinery and chemicals. Assist maintenance in line changeovers- to make sure production is ready to start up the following day. Pick up all dry ingredients off the floor before rinse. Use a shovel to get the floor as clean as possible before initial rinse. Make sure to separate trash from inedible. Rinse equipment free of soils with water making sure to cover all water sensitive areas before rinsing. Some pieces of equipment will be cleaned by hand with wipes and/or paper towels. Properly foam equipment- Making sure to use the correct chemicals and amounts. Let chemicals dwell on equipment for the required amount of time while scrubbing surfaces of equipment with green pads to break up any remaining soils or organisms. A final rinse will be done- to rinse equipment free of chemicals used for cleaning. A pre-op inspection will be done- to verify equipment is clean before given to supervisor for inspection. QA will inspect, followed by USDA if they wish to pre-op. Sanitize and assemble- all equipment after pre-ops are completed making sure to cover every surface of the room and equipment according to cleaning procedures. Secondary duties- performing any work task as instructed by the line lead or supervisor. This may include working a different line or performing a different job. All hourly sanitation positions require extended periods of working in temperatures as low as 40 degrees Fahrenheit and as high as 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Sanitation employees will handle corrosive chemicals on a daily basis. Sanitation employees are required to wear steal toed rubber boots, hairnet, beard guard, hearing protection, Yellow rain suit, rubber gloves, sleeves, and helmet. Goggles and face shields are required whenever chemicals are being handled. Sanitation positions start at different times and different lines on a daily basis. Weekends would be mandatory if scheduled. Schedules are posted every day for the next days work in the employee hallway. Sanitation positions receive one 15 minute break and one 30 minute meal break paid and will be taken when the supervisor deems it appropriate. Must be able to obtain prompt and regular job attendance. Rate of pay is $13.40 per hour. Top out is $14.05 per hour.
