Desired Skills/Duties: Job Description Summary: Performs a variety of tasks in the care, maintenance and operation of University dining buildings, facilities and equipment in a clean, sanitary, safe and serviceable condition. Duties/Physical Demands: Dish-room Job Duties: Running a dish machine, cleaning silverware, plates, pots and pans Pulling trash/recycling Stocking bottled and bag/box beverage systems Maintaining cleanliness of dishroom and food service areas: including use of Kaivac, cleaning hood vents, sweeping and mopping floors Maintaining dining rooms-- cleaning tables Use of a pulper Putting away supplies/groceries Keeping supply areas clean Bussing tables Cleaning restrooms, hand sinks, etc. Cleaning floor drains Proper storage of dishware, service ware, and groceries Maintain cleanliness of freezers and refrigeration units Overall building maintenance: cleaning floors, windows, walls, etc. Other duties as assigned Other Job Duties: 1) Perform such functions as sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, washing, sanitizing, buffing, polishing and dusting of floors, walls, windows, furniture, fixtures, equipment, etc. 2) Operate equipment such as Kai-vacs, vacuum sweepers, buffers, floor machines, carpet shampooers, washers and dryers, etc. 3) Handle and use solvents, detergents, disinfectants, degreasers and other cleaning and sanitizing materials and solutions to maintain buildings, equipment and facilities in a clean, sanitary condition. 4) Maintain and make minor repairs to buildings and facilities by performing such tasks as changing bulbs in light fixtures, removing and cleaning shower heads/sink fixtures, removing and hanging drapes and curtains, securing drapery and blind fixtures, etc. 5) Replenish facility supplies (i.e. paper towels, soap), etc. 6) Remove trash, recycling, litter and other refuse from buildings and adjacent grounds including shoveling or otherwise clearing snow from the entranceways and walkways (minimum of ten feet from building). 7) Set up for regular and special events that are to occur in assigned buildings or area of responsibility by arranging or moving or setting up student room furniture or chairs and tables, making beds, assembling platforms, moving and positioning equipment, materials, items for storage, etc. Minimum Qualifications: Requires a high school diploma or GED. No experience required. May require driver's license.
