Desired Skills/Duties: Salary: $31.24-$44.39 per hour Work Location: 130 High Street, Hamilton, OH Hours of Work: M-F, 8:00a 5:00p Essential Functions: Management and planning: Manages consulting engineering contracts and major construction projects; reviews financial aspects of engineering and construction projects; coordinates the development of the Capital Improvement Program; coordinates projects with other government entities; assists Accounting Section in tracking construction costs and departmental assets and preparation of the CAFR; interprets water and sewer systems modeling scenarios; identifies and assists with removal of inflow and infiltration; and prioritizes cast iron replacement projects. Design and plan review: Leads and performs the design of various water and wastewater facilities such as water mains, sewer mains, lift stations, etc.; prepares drawings, specifications and contract documents; reviews preliminary plans and reports; meets with field personnel to coordinate operational and design concerns; and reviews water and sewer system evaluations to determine the need for capital system improvements. Supervision: Supervises Staff Engineers, Engineering Aides, Administrative Assistants and the Chief Inspector and GIS Coordinator; assigns work; gives guidance on designs and methodology of completing work assignments, inspects and evaluates completed work; approves leave requests; provides training and instruction; and recommends discipline as needed. Consultation: Provides expertise in the operation of the Water Distribution, Wastewater Collection, and Treatment Systems; consults with non-departmental experts with regards to departmental operations; provides assistance to Director and Division Heads as well as Section Managers with regards to technical matters; and provides technical assistance to the Staff Engineers, Engineering Aides and Inspectors with regards to Departmental policies. Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions. Required Qualifications: Bachelor s degree in engineering and environmental engineering experience that demonstrates knowledge of the design, construction, and operation of water distribution and wastewater collection and treatment (Master s Degree preferred); and Five (5) years experience in water distribution and wastewater collection and treatment systems; or Any combination of education, experience and/or training equivalent to the stated minimum qualifications. LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Professional Engineer Certification. Must have a valid Ohio driver's license.
