Desired Skills/Duties: Manufacturing Engineer SUMMARY OF THE JOB: Responsible for establishing an infrastructure to support product manufacturing and engineering. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as direct point of contact for product and process related issues from the representative manufacturing operation Define and maintain the process steps required to create customer product using lean manufacturing concepts Work closely with the Quality team to define the required quality plan to ensure each opportunity for error is considered Work closely with the Program Management team to define and ensure product is effective in meeting the requirements of the customer Introduce and teach employees in the manufacturing operations new programs and current program changes Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions Lead/assist in structured corrective action process identifying root causes, determining effective solutions, and implementation of improvements to processes throughout manufacturing Effectively communicate with all parts of the organization, customers, and suppliers regarding the status of products and processes Initiate and take ownership of process improvement projects Serve as project leader for new product and process introductions. Manage the logistics of product manufacturing including order fulfillment, purchasing of materials, managing inventory, and communication with vendors and customers. Develop, revise, and evaluate methods, tooling and quality processes for materials, products, equipment and facilities. Report and facilitate correction and preventative action for out-of-specification conditions. Provide general production support for the manufacturing area as needed. Provide technical assistance and hands-on problem solving. Perform capital equipment justification, as needed. Plan and implement manufacturing cost-reduction opportunities Assist other members in analyzing data and making corrections to the processes based upon data Ensure compliance with federal and state laws Perform all duties in a safe manner Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Education and Experience Required: 3-5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.BS or BA degree in a technical discipline preferred. 3-5 years CNC Programming Experience required. Basic Skill and Ability Requirements: Effective interpersonal skills with experience in customer/supplier relations. Self-motivated: Process/results oriented. Problem solving skills required. Able to handle multiple assignments under extreme time constraints and high stress conditions Must have strong work ethic, sense of urgency and a high energy level Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Office application, required, AutoCAD experience a plus. Must be flexible to work days, evenings, whatever to meet business needs.
