The Medical Assistant is a multi-skilled professional who works under the direction of a provider (physician, Certified Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Specialist, Physician Assistant). The Medical Assistant is trained to perform both administrative and clinical skills in the physician practice environment. Under the direction of the physician, the CMA at St. Rita's Professional Services - Health Management Group (Lima, Ohio) will perform both administrative and clinical skills in the practice setting environment. The CMA will be responsible for but not limited to, rooming patients, vitals, entering patient information into the EMR, assisting with procedures, FMLA forms, pre-certifications and answering/returning phone calls from patients. Education: The qualified candidate must have a high school diploma or GED required. Associates degree or diploma from a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited medical assisting program and current certification through the AAMA is required or certification through AAMA must be obtained within six (6) months of hire. Experience in a physician's office or medical facility as a Certified Medical Assistant preferred. Excellent customer service, communication skills and the ability to multi-task required. Knowledge of pre-certifications and prior authorizations preferred. Hours per pay period: 80 Job Shift: Days, Job Schedule: Full-Time MercyHealth is an equal opportunity employer.
