Desired Skills/Duties: SUMMARY OF THE JOB: Responsible for the development, application, and maintenance of the company wide quality system in meeting internal operational requirements, ISO 9001 requirements and assuring customer satisfaction with company armoring standards. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Document and control the company Quality System Manual and all procedures and process work instructions to meet ISO 9001 requirements and ensure compliance to customer contracts. Ensure ISO quality system compliance by scheduling, managing and performing internal audits and facilitating external audits. Provide Quality Assurance guidance and leadership to process owners and Quality Assurance staff. Make Quality Assurance decisions on process changes in respect to customer and registrar compliance. Develop program specific Quality Plans and staffing requirement needs to support plans. Facilitate continuous improvement efforts for processes in-line with department and business goals. Establish and provide quality and developmental process training for employees. Lead and assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action of internal quality issues. Establish and monitor Quality system performance metrics and continuously improve measurement goals. Facilitate communication within internal departments promoting a proactive team environment for the leveraging and sharing of best practices. Maintain supplier quality approval, development, and monitoring activities as necessary. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws. Perform all duties in a safe manner. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Education and Experience Required: BS or BA degree in a technical discipline and/ or equivalent 5-10 years of quality management/engineering experience in a manufacturing environment Basic Skill and Ability Requirements: Experience with ISO 9001 or QS 9100 Quality Operating Systems, ASQ certification, CQA, CQE a plus Demonstrated multi-disciplinary perspective of business processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office application, required. Solid interpersonal skills with experience in customer/supplier relations. Able to handle multiple assignments under tight time constraints. Self-motivated: Process/results oriented. Problem solving and decision making skills required. Must have strong work ethic, sense of urgency and a high energy level. Ability to use good and sound judgment. Statistical training /experience desired. Experience with lean manufacturing and kaizen techniques. Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines. Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends to meet business needs. Ability to work with a diversified work force.
